Diversity University

Offerings

Under Diversity University (DU) we offer modular, customizable, and plug-and-play solutions. This program allows businesses to select solutions that may augment their current programs or customize a roadmap that fits their needs. These solutions are meant to be customizable to each company’s needs and bundle pricing is available. The below are illustrative of offerings.

Workshops

Our workshops are informative, interactive and engaging. We not only raise awareness, we give you the tools to create meaningful change. These can be customized to the audience group (E.g., Business leaders, subject area teams, or HR). Workshops are several hours and focus on a deep dive into subject areas, integrating exercises and interactive facilitated dialogue with presentation and training. Workshop pricing varies depending on length and attendee number. Workshops may be a great way to integrate some deeper conversations at the management level or to do a deep dive on various practices such as recruiting.

Education and Awareness

We can provide one hour training courses across a variety of topics. These can be company-wide webinars or focused on smaller groups. We customize and develop course material to meet any organization’s needs, to account for the audience and what training the individuals have already received. Organizations can purchase bundles and offer courses once a quarter or once a month. We have hundreds of topics and draw from a group of renowned speakers  to deliver content on any diversity, equity, and inclusion topic of interest

Facilitated Listening Sessions

Our team facilitates dialogue with a cross-section of your organization to understand concerns, cultural impacts, and priorities. We aggregate and anonymize the feedback and provide the organization a complete
report, including recommendations to address the findings. This is a far more effective tool than surveys. Employees report feeling “heard” and like the organization cares after these sessions. This is a visible and tangible way for the company to get in front of their organization, and help gather baseline information to help inform their DEI roadmap.

Job Description or Marketing Advertisement Reviews

Diversity and inclusion begin at first glance, both at recruitment phase and the external impression organization’s carry. We can comb through your job descriptions and comment/make recommendations with regard to inclusive language, requirements and qualifications, and imagery that may perpetuate unconscious bias or reduce your diverse applicant pools. 

Inclusion Exercises and Facilitated Dialogue

We can customize exercises, events, and facilitated dialogue to add a meaningful experience to any programming. Examples may be facilitating an unconscious bias test or doing an inclusion montage. This can be a great team building exercise, a nice portion of an executive retreat,  or part of a manager course requirement. You can build an interactive and engaging DEI experience into any part of your normal programming. 

Individual Manager or Employee Coaching Sessions

These are 1:1  sessions. These are great for managers  to dive deep into their own leadership styles, discuss difficult topics with regard to race, and address specific skills needed to lead inclusively. This is a great tool for leaders who are on different parts of their DEI journey, to help give them specific support and tools needed to be successful leaders. This can also be great for individual employees to career plan, address imposter syndrome, or who struggle to be better allies in the workplace. Whatver your goals, we can help you 1:1 to get the specific support you need. 

Audit and Review of Policies and Practices

We can review your policies and practices for areas of opportunity to increase diversity and inclusion in your workplace. Additionally, we will interview key stakeholders because wow policies and practices are implemented in real life may be different than conceptually how they are implemented on paper. Hiring and recruiting practices, performance review and promotion criteria, terminationprocedures, all have areas where implicit bias may infiltrate. Our team will work with organizations to identify appropriate stakeholders and conduct interviews to understand the practices. After the audit, we will provide a report on areas of opportunity and make recommendations that help inform the organizations DEI initiatives. 

Project Management and Consultation Packages

We will pair you with a project manager who will meet with you to understand your priorities and goals and help create a roadmap for your diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Your project manager can work with the executive sponsors, employee ERG groups, HR or recruiting teams to help synthesize, develop, define, and implement initiatives. Your project manager will help you turn your initiatives and ideas into actionable, measurable next steps. Don’t know where to start? Have low headcount or capacity? Too many initiatives and not enough time? Or simply want to diversify your current DEI teams’ practices and benchmark against other organizations? Our project manager will work with your teams to synthesize data, identify and prioritize goals, help build out roadmaps to support you achieving the results you desire, and assist in building out reporting functions to show stakeholders you are moving the needle.

Packages are priced based on the number of sessions and sessions are yours to use at your discretion.

Education & Awareness

We do not provide off-the-shelf, generalized training. Every organization is different, and training should be meaningful and impactful. Every training we customize to meet the clients’ needs. We provide one hour training, skill-based workshops, half day training, executive, leadership, and manager training, and company-wide training on any topic of interest. We will build on training already received, customize to the audience, and deliver impactful, interactive content.

Events | Speaking Engagements & Networking

We help clients host events with DEI themes. Additionally, we partner with organizations to provide events for their clients. We provide speakers, inclusive exercises, put together panels, fireside chats, TED-style talks, or provide trainings or CLEs. For now, please delete the gamified solutions piece.

Review of Policies, Practices, Pay & Pipeline

We can partner on doing a deep dive into recruiting practices, reviewing job descriptions, reviewing policies, and outlining areas of opportunity to help eliminate bias in the workplace. We customize and create an entire program of learning designed to address the areas of opportunity identified. We work collaboratively with clients to review policies and practices and make suggestions for areas of opportunity. We review internal and external communications for inclusivity and provide feedback on next steps.

1:1 coaching

We provide 1:1 sessions for managers, executives, as well as a resource for employees, and ERG groups. These sessions can focus on anything, topics may include, how to be an inclusive leader, empathetic listening, understanding unconscious bias, building tools around having difficult DEI conversations, or skill-building and addressing imposter syndrome.
